About the event
PEER! by Knut Nærum is a funny and lively new version of Henrik Ibsen's famous play, Peer Gynt. The story follows Peer, a dreamer, schemer and wanderer with a big imagination. Seeking adventure, success and an exciting life, Peer goes on a journey far from home and finds himself in strange and surprising situations. Along the way, he meets trolls, travels the world, makes mistakes, and learns important lessons about who he really is.
This modern adaptation keeps the most famous moments from Ibsen's classic story, but uses simple language, lots of humour and songs set to well-known melodies. With unexpected twists and a stronger and more resourceful Solveig, PEER! brings a fresh energy to this much-loved story. Performed in English for the first time, Skagerak Playmakers introduces this Norwegian classic to new audiences.
An energetic, entertaining and thought-provoking story about identity, choices and what really matters in life. Suitable for all the family (recommended for ages 7+).
